People: Marcus Bennett

Marcus Bennett is a Ph.D. candidate who joined the group in 2000. He was born in Boston, and graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1991 (B.S Physics). Subsequently, he was a technician at MIT from 1992-3.

He obtained a M. A. in Physics from Clark University in 1997 (M.A.), and was employed as a technician at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1997 – 2000. His hobbies include running, especially marathons and mountain trail running, hiking and rock climbing, and competitive fighting sports, especially boxing and judo.

He is a private pilot, licensed to fly single engine land and sea planes. An aviation enthusiast, he has participated in skydiving, and soaring, and aspires to fly aerobatic planes, helicopters, and fast jets.
